The world needs more Intrepid people: 

As our Chief Accountant, you’ll play a key role in keeping our financial foundations strong, transparent, and compliant across our Central Asia trip operations.  

Working closely with the Finance Manager, you’ll oversee the accounting cycle, ensuring the integrity of all accounting records, conducting timely financial reporting and handling tax compliance.

Being an expert on local tax requirements, you'll provide trusted accounting and taxation advice while guiding stakeholders through complex regulations. You'll also oversee financial close and statutory reporting processes, and support audits and regulatory reviews. 
Essentially, you'll be a trusted financial leader who helps ensure our operations remain compliant, resilient, and ready to support Intrepid's continued growth across Central Asia!

This is a full-time permanent position based in our office in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Some of the experience you’ll bring may include: 

  • A degree in Accounting/ Finance with IFRS knowledge considered an advantage. 
  • Eligibility to be appointed as Chief Accountant under applicable Uzbekistan legislation. 
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in accounting, taxation, financial reporting and auditing across Central Asia.  
  • Strong knowledge of Uzbekistan accounting legislation, taxation requirements, and financial controls. 
  • Proven experience with preparing and submitting corporate income tax, VAT, payroll and other statutory reports. 
  • Confident with import/ export accounting work. 
  • Proficiency in Russian with English being an added advantage.
