I saw an opportunity to tackle Morocco’s growing plastic waste problem so I introduced shared water jugs on tours to replace single-use bottles and our tour leaders educated travellers on why this change matters. I partnered with hotels to arrange storage and refills, inspiring some to install filtered water stations! Now, I’m piloting a recycling program in Marrakech to turn used plastic jugs into local products - helping both the environment and our community.

I recently volunteered at Fair Food's conscious kitchen, it's a food rescue charity working with wholesalers, manufacturers and supermarkets to save food destined for waste. At the conscious kitchen, we created food parcels for distribution through over 70 charities in West Auckland and saw first hand how we could make an impact addressing food waste and poverty.
