President, USA
United States
Intrepid Travel is looking for an ambitious, commercially minded and people-focused leader to join us as President, USA. This is a unique opportunity to lead a significant and growing business, shape its strategy and culture, and help define what’s next for Intrepid in the United States.
The US is a core Intrepid market, generating approximately $100M+ USD in annual revenue and supported by a team of around 100 employees. The opportunity ahead is significant, with the potential to grow the business to $350M+ USD by 2030.
This is a senior US country leadership role with broad accountability across commercial performance, operations, people, brands, financial performance and purpose. The President, USA will have significant autonomy and decision-making responsibility for the US market, while working closely with the President, North America and the broader global leadership team.
Alongside leading the US market, the President, USA will also oversee Intrepid’s US DMC operations. This includes ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality and responsible travel experiences for travelers from all Intrepid’s global markets, while maintaining strong operational performance and service standards.
The role is accountable for delivering strong business performance today while building the capability, structure and foundations required for long-term growth.
This is a permanent, hybrid role based out of our office in Seattle, Washington, with a minimum expectation of three days per week in the office.
The salary range for this role is $160,000–$180,000 USD annually, based on experience, along with a great benefits package and excellent Intrepid perks.
What you’ll do:
As President, USA, you will have end-to-end leadership responsibility for the United States business, bringing together commercial performance, operational delivery, brand, people, financial performance and impact.
You will:
-
Lead the US business and deliver agreed commercial, financial, operational, and impact objectives.
-
Build and develop high-performing leaders across sales, marketing, partnerships, operations, finance, and HR.
-
Drive revenue and sustainable business growth through marketing, demand generation, partnerships, and distribution.
-
Own delivery of commercial, financial, operational, cultural and impact outcomes for the US market.
-
Oversee safe, high-quality trip delivery across US operations, working closely with delivery leaders.
-
Represent Intrepid externally and build strategic partnerships across the US travel ecosystem.
-
Collaborate in a global matrixed organization to ensure alignment on shared standards, systems, and priorities.
-
Position the US business for sustainable, long-term growth.
-
Contribute as a senior member of the Intrepid Americas leadership team.
This is a hands-on general management role. You’ll be close to sales and trip delivery, close to your leaders and teams, and closely connected to customers and partners in the US market.
You’re likely to be:
-
An experienced VP or emerging SVP based in the US, with a proven track record of senior leadership.
-
An accomplished leader who has overseen multiple functions or a full business unit, with clear accountability for business performance and outcomes.
-
Comfortable balancing commercial growth, operational delivery, brand leadership, people leadership and financial discipline.
-
Confident representing a business externally and building credibility with partners and industry stakeholders.
Experience we’re particularly excited by:
-
Small-group travel, touring, adventure or tailor-made travel.
-
Experience-rich, operationally complex business models.
-
Accountability for end-to-end delivery, not just sales or marketing.
-
Leading teams where impact, culture, capability and frontline experience truly matter.
We know great leaders come from a range of backgrounds and career paths, and you may not meet every requirement listed above. If you bring relevant senior leadership experience, a track record of delivering results and a strong connection to our purpose, we encourage you to apply.
A passion for travel is a must-have! With it you’ll bring:
-
10+ years of progressive senior leadership experience, including experience at VP, SVP or equivalent level.
-
Experience leading a business unit, country operation or multiple functions with accountability for overall business performance
-
Demonstrated experience developing and delivering business strategy and achieving commercial results
-
Strong financial and commercial management experience, including revenue, profitability, budgeting and forecasting
-
Strong stakeholder management and external relationship-building skills
-
Experience managing complex operational environments and customer facing businesses.
-
Strong negotiation, presentation, media relations and influencing skills.
-
Experience working in a geographically distributed or matrixed organization
-
Experience in purpose-led or values-driven organization is an asset
