The world needs more Intrepid people: 

As a Lead Guide, you are responsible for delivering outstanding tour experiences, supporting and mentoring guides, and contributing to the growth and quality of our operations in your city.

This is a full-time, permanent, on-site position based in one of the following locations: Denver, Seattle, Chicago, New Orleans, Boston, Washington, D.C., or New York City.

  • Excellent communication skills with individuals and group of people

  • An understanding of and belief in Intrepid’s Responsible Travel philosophy and Core Values  

  • Outstanding organizational management skills  

  • Problem solving and decision-making capacities  

  • A friendly, engaging, and energetic personality 

 

To be considered you may also have:  

  

  • Excellent communication in English and ideally one other local language (the more the better!)    

  • Strong customer service experience and experience in developing a rapport with a broad range of travelers  

  • Ability to manage trip budget and handle sums of money   

  • Map reading skills and a good sense of direction 

 

  

Desired Skills & attributes:

  

  • New York City Department of Consumer & Worker Protection Sightseeing Guide License (New York Guide ONLY) 

  • Valid Driver’s License with the ability to drive an electric cart (DC guides ONLY) 

  • New Orleans Tour Guide Permit (New Orleans guides ONLY) 

  • A willingness to work flexible hours according to the groups needs 

  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificates recommended 

  • Leave No Trace Online Awareness Certificate recommended
