The world needs more Intrepid people: 

Do you love Thailand and sharing it with others?  We are currently recruiting freelance leaders in Thailand, with training starting as early as May!

As a Tour Leader with Intrepid you get the opportunity to share your country and culture with travellers from all over the world and create unforgettable moments they’ll treasure for a lifetime!

As a Tour Leader with us you will:  

  • Be the face of Intrepid and provide exceptional customer service  
  • Host, lead and execute tours to budget, following the itinerary and ensuring the overall successful operation of each trip 
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of your travellers, assisting with any difficult situations that may arise. 
  • Tell stories, deliver travel advice and organise your customers’ experience  
  • Reconfirming suppliers, hotels, activities and doing administration along the way  


To be considered you must have: 

  • Previous Tour Guiding/Leading experience across Thailand and Laos 
  • Full rights to work across the region, with a Thailand Tourist Guide license  
  • Passionate for travel in the Intrepid style and sharing your region with our travellers 
  • Great availability during our peak seasons of November to February to lead our trips 
  • Good communication skills in English and local languages, with the ability to communicate with people from varied cultures and backgrounds 
  • Basic computer skills including email, word and excel  
  • You’ll also have amazing customer service and organizational skills, with some experience in budgeting. 


What you need to know:   

  • This is a freelance contract position 
  • We are recruiting leaders between February to April with training commencing from May onwards. First aid training will also be given. 
  • With extended hours, lots of walking and activities, and engaging with travellers, it’s important that you are prepared both mentally and physically for the challenge! 
  • You'll need the ability to travel and spend time away from home, as our leaders often travel for extensive periods at a time and some tours can span up to four weeks.



For our Tour Leaders, the work perks may vary from country to country, but some of the work perks we offer include: 

  • Departures through the year of diverse itineraries to lead, including a hike, cycling, and kayak adventure, festival trips, family tours, and foodie experiences  
  • Some meals included, and generally your accommodation will be where the guests are staying (such as hotels, camping, homestays, cabins etc) 
  • Access to e-learning platforms, and comprehensive tour leader training before you even start  
  • Internal career opportunities
