Tour Leader, Sri Lanka

As a Tour Leader with Intrepid you get the opportunity to share your country and culture with travellers from all over the world and create unforgettable moments they’ll treasure for a lifetime!
As a Tour Leader with us you will:
- Be the face of Intrepid and provide exceptional customer service
- Host, lead and execute tours to budget, following the itinerary and ensuring the overall successful operation of each trip
- Ensure the safety and well-being of your travellers, assisting with any difficult situations that may arise.
- Tell stories, deliver travel advice and organise your customers’ experience
- Reconfirm suppliers, hotels, activities and doing administration along the way
To be considered you must have:
- All-Island National Tour Guide License with full rights to work across Sri Lanka
- Passionate for travel in the Intrepid style and sharing your region with our travellers
- Great availability during our peak seasons to lead our trips
- Excellent communication skills in English and local languages, with the ability to communicate with people from varied cultures and backgrounds
- Basic computer skills including email, word and excel
- You’ll also have amazing customer service and organizational skills, with some experience in budgeting.
What you need to know:
- This is a Freelance Contract position
- We are recruiting leaders in May with training commencing from June onwards.
- With extended hours, lots of walking and activities, and engaging with travellers, it’s important that you are prepared both mentally and physically for the challenge!
- You’ll need the ability to travel and spend time away from home, as our leaders often travel for extensive periods at a time and some tours can span up to four weeks.
- Creating safe travel experiences is at the core to what we do, and this role may be subject to mandatory child safeguarding checks where required. #LI-DNI
