Do you love Sri Lanka and sharing it with others? As a Tour Guide with Intrepid you get the opportunity to share your country and culture with travellers from all over the world and create unforgettable moments they’ll treasure for a lifetime! 

  

As a Tour Guide with us you will:  

  • Be the face of Intrepid and provide exceptional customer service  

  • Host, lead and execute tours to budget, following the itinerary and ensuring the overall successful operation of each trip 

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of your travellers, assisting with any difficult situations that may arise. 

  • Tell stories, deliver travel advice and organise your customers’ experience 
     

To be considered you must have: 

  • All-Island National Tour Guide License with full rights to work across Sri Lanka 

  • Passion for travel in the Intrepid style and sharing your region with our travellers 

  • Excellent communication skills in English and local language, with the ability to communicate with people from varied cultures and backgrounds 

  • Great availability during our peak seasons to lead our trips 

  • Basic computer skills including email, word and excel  


You’ll also be self-motivated with the ability to take initiative, provide amazing customer service and have some experience in budgeting. 


What you need to know:   

  • This is a Freelancer-Contract position. 

  • We are recruiting for leaders in May to run trips from July 2025 onwards 

  • With extended hours, lots of walking and activities, and engaging with customers, it’s important that you are prepared both mentally and physically for the challenge!   

  • You’ll need the ability to travel and spend time away from home, as our leaders often travel for extensive periods at a time and some tours can span up to four weeks.
