As a Local Guide with Intrepid you get the opportunity to share your country and culture with travellers from all over the world and create unforgettable moments they’ll treasure for a lifetime.   

  

As a Local Guide with us you will: 

  • Be the face of Intrepid and provide exceptional customer service  

  • Provide premium guiding services to our customers in and around Hanoi/ Ho Chi Minh City/ Hoi An 

  • Guide trips to budget, following the itinerary and ensuring the overall successful operation of each trip 

  • Work closely with the Group Leaders on group trips 

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of your travellers, assisting with any difficult situations that may arise. 

  • Manage trip funds and complete required administrative tasks 

  

To be considered you must have: 

  • Minimum 1 year experience in Tour Guiding across Vietnam 

  • Passion for travel in the Intrepid style and sharing your region with our travellers 

  • Excellent communication skills in English and local language, with the ability to communicate with people from varied cultures and backgrounds 

  • Comprehensive general knowledge of Vietnamese history, culture and local areas related to trip itineraries 

  • Great availability during our peak seasons to guide our trips 

  • Basic computer skills including email, word and excel  

  • Full rights to work across the region, with an official Tour Guide license. 


You’ll also be flexible, friendly and provide amazing customer service! 


What you need to know:   

  • This is a full-time position with a requirement to work 5-6 days per week depending on the peak season 

  • You will need a valid first-aid certificate prior to starting with us  

  • We are recruiting for leaders between September and October with training commencing from October onwards 

  • With extended hours, lots of walking and activities, and engaging with customers, it’s important that you are prepared both mentally and physically for the challenge!   

  • You’ll need the ability to travel and spend time away from home, as our leaders often travel for extensive periods at a time and some tours can span up to four weeks.
