General Manager - Destination Management

At Intrepid our business is continuing to grow and we are now excited to now be recruiting for a General Manager to lead our Destination Management Company in Sri Lanka.
In this position, you’ll play a key role in supporting the management of ground operations, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations of our DMC. Collaborating with and reporting to our Country General Manager in Sri Lanka, you will implement strategies, achieve financial targets, and work with the wider destination management team to ensure high standards of product and trip delivery, ensuring our travellers have an exceptional experience with us.
As a General Manager for our DMC, you will bring great leadership skills, excellent communication and be passionate about developing your people to coach them to become a high-performing team. You will work closely with your team to develop and then deliver exceptional products to our partners across the region, and sustainable experience rich travel to our customers. This role will also give the opportunity to contribute to our Company's global goals, and will have a focus on strategy and profitability, as you will take ownership over boosting sales growth in your region, and positioning the Intrepid brand into key markets and across destinations.
This is a full-time permanent position, based in our Colombo office.
Some of the experience you’ll may bring includes:

Experience in Destination Management & managing ground operations within the tourism sector, particularly in Sri Lanka

Strong understanding of the Sri Lankan inbound market and its operational dynamics or strong experience in the travel & tourism industy

5-10 years’ middle level management experience; company management or DMC management experience preferred.

Sound financial literacy with an understanding of commercial & strategic decision making

Proven understanding of risk and incident management

Excellent english communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a global mindset.
