The world needs more Intrepid people: 

As General Manager, you will lead and manage our ground operations across Spain and Portugal. You will oversee daily operations to ensure exceptional service delivery and operational excellence, while developing and implementing long-term strategies to position Intrepid as a leader in sustainable adventure travel. In this role, you’ll drive sales growth, business development, and profitability across the region, while leading, motivating, and developing a high-performing and diverse team. You will enhance Intrepid’s brand presence in key markets, manage risk and incident responses to ensure compliance with safety protocols, and collaborate with the Regional General Manager, West Europe, and other General Managers across EMEA to achieve strategic goals. 

 

This is a full-time, permanent position operating in a hybrid capacity out of our Valencia, Spain office 2/3 days per week.  

 

To be successful in this role, you’ll need: 

  • Extensive experience managing ground operations, particularly in Spain and Portugal. 

  • Strong understanding of Destination Management Company (DMC) functions. 

  • Proven track record in mid to senior-level management, with General Manager experience preferred. 

  • High financial literacy and experience in commercial and strategic decision-making. 

  • Background in tourism or a related customer-focused, operational industry. 

  • Fluent Spanish language skills with excellent written and spoken English; is required, proficiency in Portuguese is a desirable advantage. 

  • Advanced leadership and people management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams. 

  • Strategic vision with the ability to navigate uncertainty and drive change effectively. 

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including active listening and tailoring communication styles to diverse audiences. 

  • A growth mindset and passion for continuous improvement and innovation.
