The world needs more Intrepid people: 

This role provides managerial and administrative support to the Operations Manager, focusing on day-to-day operations to ensure the successful and profitable execution of all Intrepid travel, business partnerships, and treks in Peru. 

 

The position involves assisting the Operations Manager in managing and scheduling leaders and guides, supporting the implementation and monitoring of Intrepid policies, including safety standards, crisis management, and responsible business practices. This role also ensures compliance with safety standards set by external business partners. 

 

Additionally, the Director of Operations Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing trekking operations in Peru, applying Intrepid safety standards, and recruiting the necessary team. The DOM will maintain active communication with leaders and guides, ensuring high-quality trip experiences and resolving any on-the-ground issues. As a key point of contact for guide suppliers and business partners, this position will ensure strong relationships and effective collaboration. 

 

This full-time Permanent Position will operate out of our office in Cuzco, Peru.     

 

Some of the experience you’ll bring with you may include: 

  • Relevant tourism qualifications. 

  • Experience traveling in Peru and a strong understanding of mountain trekking. 

  • Travel industry work experience, particularly in operations in travel companies. 

  • Experience in management coaching or training is desirable. 

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written) in both English and Spanish  

  • Experience with administrative tasks, proficient in Microsoft Office, and skilled in utilizing new technologies such as PowerBI and artificial intelligence. 

  • Preference will be given to Peruvian nationals.
