As the Deputy Operations Manager, you will provide strategic and operational support to the Operations Manager (OM), ensuring the efficient, safe, and profitable delivery of all Intrepid Travel experiences and business partner programs across Peru and Bolivia. 

 

This position plays a critical leadership role in managing and optimizing day-to-day operations, including workforce planning, compliance, and quality assurance. You will assist in leader and guide scheduling, oversee adherence to Intrepid’s global standards including safety, crisis management, and responsible travel - and ensure compliance with requirements from external partners. 

 

Additionally, as the Deputy Operations Manager, you will maintain active communication with leaders and guides, ensuring high-quality trip experiences and resolving on-the-ground issues. Acting as a key point of contact for guide suppliers and business partners, you will foster strong relationships and ensure effective collaboration across all operational areas. 

 

This full-time Permanent Position will operate onsite out of our office in Cusco, Peru.     

 

Some of the experience you’ll bring with you may include: 

  • Relevant tourism qualifications. 

  • Experience traveling in Peru & Bolivia. 

  • Travel industry work experience, particularly in operations in travel companies. 

  • Experience in management coaching or training is desirable. 

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written) in both English and Spanish  

  • Experience with administrative tasks, proficient in Microsoft Office, and skilled in utilizing new technologies such as PowerBI and artificial intelligence. 

  • Preference will be given to Peruvian nationals.
