At Intrepid, we believe travel is a force for good, and as the Accounting Trainee, you’ll help uphold the financial integrity of a business committed to creating positive change. 

The Finance Trainee is responsible for executing tasks related to the analysis of accounting accounts, ensuring the accuracy of balances in the accounts that make up the financial statements. This includes recording daily transactions and assisting in the preparation of reports to support decision-making within the department. 

As part of their role, the Accounting Trainee supports the Cost Accountant with tasks necessary to achieve the departments and the company’s objectives and goals, contributing to the fulfilment of monthly, annual, and/or local and headquarters-required deadlines. They will also perform duties inherent to their position within the processes established by Finance Management. 

 

This is a Full-Time Internship Position that will operate on a hybrid basis out of our office in Lima, Peru.     

 

Some of the experience you’ll bring with you may include: 

  • Graduate or bachelor’s degree in accounting 

  • Intermediate-level knowledge of taxation, including VAT (IGV) and Corporate Income Tax (3rd Category). 

  • Experience in the analysis and reconciliation of accounting accounts. 

  • Record of travel expense reports (trips), petty cash and administrative expenses 

  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems. 

  • Intermediate or advanced skills in Microsoft Excel. 

  • Intermediate-level English proficiency is desirable; advanced proficiency is an advantage.
