Do you dream of inspiring travellers and helping them fall in love with their destination by immersing them in your local culture and exposing them to real life experiences? Being a Tour Leader with Intrepid, you will do just that!  

  

Every day will be different, but every day you will:  

  • Deliver exceptional customer experiences and share your love of travel every step of the way - whether that’s leading a morning market walk, arranging a local craft workshop, or hosting a home-cooked meal with a family. You’ll help create moments that stay with our travellers long after the trip ends.  

  • Prioritise the safety and wellbeing of your group. You’ll stay calm and professional when challenges arise - from lost passports and medical needs to group dynamics - ensuring travellers feel supported the entire time.  

  • Lead and manage trips in line with itineraries and budgets, while completing all required trip administration accurately and on time.  

  • Bring our values to life - be Real in your connections, Ambitious in creating incredible experiences, work Together with your team and local partners, and make every journey Impactful for our travellers and the communities we visit. 

  

To be considered you must have:  

  • As an English-Speaking Guide, excellent communication skills in English and Arabic is essential (any additional languages are a bonus!) 

  • Extensive local travel experience and expertise in Jordan, with strong knowledge of the country’s culture, history, and key destinations

  • Experience travelling in surrounding countries is also an advantage 

  • A valid guiding license is required
  • Strong customer service experience and the ability to create a positive, enjoyable experience for a broad range of travellers 

  • A valid First Aid Certificate (or willingness to complete this prior to starting) 

  • Strong organisation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to ensure the smooth, safe and enjoyable operation of each trip 

  • Confident using basic computer programmes – including email, Word and Excel 

  • Full rights to work in Jordan at present (we’re unable to support obtaining these rights) 

 
What you need to know:  

  • This is a freelance contract position, which will give you flexibility in when and how you work however, great availability across peak seasons (March – April & September – November) is a must-have  

  • We are recruiting for leaders frequently with training and onboarding commencing on 18th – 22nd January 2026 - specific info/location to be given at interview.  

  • With extended hours, lots of walking and activities, and engaging with travellers, so, it’s important that you are prepared both mentally and physically for the challenge!  

  • You’ll need the ability to travel and spend time away from home, as our leaders often travel for extensive periods at a time as some tours can span up to four weeks.
