As a Tour Leader with Intrepid, you’ll use your passion for your community to educate and inspire our travelers, immersing them in your local culture – so they’ll want to return, again and again! With Intrepid you’ll be ensuring that the work you do has meaning; Intrepid focuses on giving back and investing in your local community, which is why we use local leaders, local operators and ensure we give back into the destination at every opportunity.
As a Tour Leader with us you will:
- Be the face of Intrepid and provide exceptional customer service
- Tell stories, deliver travel advice and organise your customers’ experience
- Follow a tour to a budget and itinerary
- Ensure the safety and well-being of your travellers, assisting with any difficult situations that may arise.
- Reconfirm suppliers, hotels, activities and doing administration along the way.
To be considered:
- You'll need great Customer Service or some Tour Guiding/Leading experience.
- Good communication skills in English and Japanese, with the ability to communicate with people from varied cultures and backgrounds
- Great availability during our peak seasons of March - May and September - November to lead our trips
- You will need to be available for training in June or July
- Basic computer skills including email, word and excel
- You’ll also have amazing customer service and organizational skills, with some experience in budgeting.
What you need to know:
- With extended hours, lots of walking and activities, and engaging with travellers, it’s important that you are prepared both mentally and physically for the challenge!
- You’ll need the ability to travel and spend time away from home, as our leaders often travel for extensive periods at a time and some tours can span up to four weeks.
