We are Intrepid

The world needs more Intrepid people:

At Intrepid, unforgettable trips don’t happen by chance – they’re shaped by strong local partnerships, smart commercial decisions, and people who know their destinations inside out. We’re looking for a Contracting Manager, Italy to lead and further develop our Italy contracting function and help make that happen.

In this role, you’ll have primary accountability for managing and improving supplier contracts across Italy, ensuring we secure the best possible rates while maintaining high-quality service and strong relationships.

You’ll lead the Italy Contracting team, oversee contracting systems, and play a key role in improving trip profitability. Working closely with the Destination Product Manager – Italy, you’ll support the development of new itineraries and contract services that meet client needs, while collaborating with Operations, Reservations and Finance teams.

This is a varied, commercially focused role suited to someone with strong contracting and negotiation experience, people management capability, and a solid understanding of the Italian travel industry. You’ll be comfortable balancing supplier relationships with commercial outcomes, driving continuous improvement, and leading a team in a fast-paced environment.

This is a full-time, permanent, hybrid role, based in Rome, with an expectation to be in the office around 2–3 days per week.

Some of the experience you’ll bring with you may include:

  • Proven experience in contracting, supplier sourcing and contract management

  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure competitive rates and terms

  • Experience managing staff and leading a team

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Italian (additional European languages an advantage)

  • Strong understanding of the local travel industry in Italy

  • Experience working closely with product teams to support itinerary development

  • Outstanding organisational skills with strong attention to detail

  • Business development and/or financial analysis skills (desirable)

  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly within destination

  • Strong decision-making skills and the ability to manage change and continuous improvement

  • A commitment to delivering high standards of customer service

If you’re passionate about Italy, thrive in commercially driven travel roles, and want to play a key role in shaping Intrepid’s experiences in the region, we’d love to hear from you.
