Tour Leader (Dutch), India
Do you love India and sharing about it with others? As a Dutch-speaking Tour Leader in India, you’ll use your passion for your community to educate and inspire our travelers, immersing them in your local culture – so they’ll want to return, again and again!
With Intrepid you’ll be ensuring that the work you do has meaning; Intrepid focuses on giving back and investing in the local community, which is why we use local leaders, local operators and ensure we give back to the destination at every opportunity.
As a Tour Leader with us you will:
- Be the face of Intrepid and provide exceptional customer service.
- Lead and manage tours across India, following the itinerary while keeping the trip running smoothly and on budget.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of your travelers, assisting with any difficult situations that may arise.
- Share stories, deliver travel advice and organise your customers’ experience.
- Reconfirm suppliers, hotels, activities and doing administration along the way.
To be considered you must have:
- Full rights to work across the Indian region.
- Fluency in Dutch (C1 level or equivalent) to confidently lead Dutch-speaking travellers on our India trips.
- A valid certification of Dutch language proficiency.
- Previous Tour Guiding/Leading experience in India.
- Valid Level 2 Senior First Aid Certificate, completed prior to starting with us.
- Strong communication skills in English and ideally one other local language (the more the better!)
- Great availability during our peak seasons of September to April to lead our trips.
- Passion for travel in the Intrepid style and sharing your region with our travellers.
- Basic computer skills including email, Word and Excel.
- You’ll also have amazing customer service skills, with some experience in budgeting.
What you need to know:
- This is a freelance contractual position.
- With extended hours, lots of walking and activities, and engaging with travelers, it’s important that you are prepared both mentally and physically for the challenge!
- You’ll need the ability to travel and spend time away from home, as our leaders often travel for extensive periods at a time, and some tours can span up to four weeks.
- Creating safe travel experiences is at the core to what we do, and this role may be subject to mandatory child safeguarding checks where required.
