We are Intrepid

The world needs more Intrepid people:

At Intrepid, unforgettable trips don’t happen by chance – they’re shaped by people on the ground who know the destination inside out, can juggle the details, and genuinely care about delivering great experiences. We’re looking for a Deputy Operations Manager, Egypt to help make that happen.

Based in Egypt, you’ll provide hands-on operational and managerial support to the Operations Manager, helping ensure the smooth, safe and profitable delivery of Intrepid group trips and other travel products. You’ll play a key role in day-to-day trip operations, supporting leaders, resolving issues as they arise, and coordinating on-the-ground logistics to uphold the standards set out in Intrepid’s Service Level Agreement.

This is a varied, fast-paced role suited to someone with strong knowledge in tourism ground operations in Egypt, a background in group leading or operations, and the confidence to step in, make decisions, and keep things moving – even when priorities shift.

This is a full-time, permanent role based onsite in Cairo, Egypt.

Some of the experience you’ll bring with you may include:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (knowledge of Swahili is an advantage)

  • Travel industry experience, ideally as a Group Leader or in an operational role

  • Experience coaching, training or supporting leaders and teams (desirable)

  • Extensive travel experience in Egypt and the Middle East, with a passion for travel

  • Strong organisational and customer service skills

  • A workable knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

  • A recognised diploma in Tour Operations

  • A strong understanding of Intrepid’s Responsible Travel philosophy, style of travel, and operating systems

  • Ability to make independent decisions and manage day-to-day operational issues confidently

  • A commitment to delivering high-quality customer experiences

  • Flexibility to work varied hours as needed

You’ll also be comfortable working with a diverse group of leaders, understand regional culture and business etiquette, and bring a collaborative, adaptable mindset – plus a sense of humour and a smile when things get busy.

If you’re passionate about Egypt, thrive in operational environments, and want to play a key role in delivering exceptional small group adventures, we’d love to hear from you.
