We are Intrepid

The world needs more Intrepid people:

Behind every incredible journey is a dedicated team working together to deliver exceptional experiences for our travellers. We're looking for a Deputy General Manager to join our Egypt team and play a key role in helping our Egypt DMC thrive!

Working closely with the General Manager, Egypt & Jordan, you'll be a trusted senior leader within Intrepid Egypt. In this role, you'll make timely decisions on operational priorities, customer-impacting issues, supplier matters, and business improvement initiatives.

Leadership is central to this role - You'll coach and support managers, navigate daily challenges, and foster accountability, and teamwork. When the General Manager is away, you'll provide local leadership while partnering with the GM on strategic, financial and legal matters.

Along the way, you'll build strong relationships with suppliers, monitor business performance, and support compliance and safety requirements.

If you’re keen to bring your leadership and tourism expertise to this role, we’d love to hear from you!

This is a full-time, permanent role based onsite in Cairo, Egypt. We work in a 3-2-1 hybrid model, with 3 days in the office and 2 days from home, including at least 1 office day on a Monday or Thursday.

Some of the experience you’ll bring with you may include:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience managing teams, functions, or department leaders.
  • Proven experience within travel & tourism/ destination management companies, with solid knowledge of the Egypt travel market.
  • Strong understanding of supplier management, incident management, and compliance requirements, with an established network of tourism suppliers across Egypt being beneficial.
  • Excellent English and Arabic communication skills.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, with the ability to interpret trip performance data.
  • Ability to improve processes and drive operational efficiency.
  • Experience with travel systems will be an added advantage.
