Senior SEO Specialist North America
Do you have a passion for all things SEO and a drive to improve how customers discover brands online? As the Senior SEO Specialist, you will play a key role in driving organic growth and strengthening search visibility for the Intrepid Travel brand across North America.
Reporting to the Head of SEO, this role will lead regional SEO initiatives to improve search visibility, website visitation, and brand presence across traditional search engines, AI-powered search platforms, and emerging discovery channels.
This position is ideal for an experienced SEO professional with a proven track record of delivering measurable results, who is ready to take the next step in their career and help shape Intrepid’s search performance across the US and Canada, with a key focus on accelerating growth in the US market.
This is a full-time, permanent position that can be based out of either our Toronto or Seattle office. The role follows our 3-2-1 hybrid model, with three days working from the office and two days remotely each week, including at least one required office day on either Monday or Friday. The salary range for this position is $70,000–$85,000 (CAD/USD depending on location), depending on experience, and includes a comprehensive benefits package along with a range of additional employee perks.
You will have a passion for travel and bring:

4+ years of SEO experience, including senior-level responsibility for driving organic visibility growth in competitive US and Canadian markets, with a proven track record of developing, executing, and measuring successful SEO strategies.

Advanced knowledge of technical SEO, including crawlability, indexation, redirects, canonicalization, site architecture, internal linking, structured data, JavaScript, Core Web Vitals, and CMS optimization.

Strong understanding of on-page SEO, including content optimization, search intent, entity coverage, E-E-A-T principles, and content quality.

Experience with off-page SEO, including digital PR, authority signals, brand mentions, and sustainable link acquisition strategies.

Deep understanding of AI Search, including Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and how AI-led discovery is changing organic visibility and user behaviour.

Expert proficiency in Google Search Console, GA4, SEMrush (or equivalent), with the ability to analyze rankings, traffic, revenue, conversions, content engagement, SERP features, and AI visibility signals.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate SEO opportunities into actionable recommendations across content, engineering, product, PR, and commercial teams while maintaining ethical, brand-safe SEO practices.
