Do you dream of inspiring travellers and helping them fall in love with their destination by immersing them in your local culture and exposing them to real life experiences? Being a Tour Leader with Intrepid, you will do just that!   

   

Every day will be different, but every day you will:   

  • Provide amazing customer service and travel advice – whether it's telling stories around a campfire, leading a hike to an awe-inspiring view, or cooking a delicious campsite meal, you’ll create incredible moments that our travellers will never forget   

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of your travellers, at times you will have to assist in difficult situations whilst remaining calm and professional.   

  • Host, lead and execute tours to budget, following the itinerary and fulfil your administrative duties   

  • Be passionate about travel and share your love of it with our customers. Every step of the way you’ll embody our core values of Real, Together, Ambitious and Impactful. 

 

To be considered you must have:   

  • Experience working in a physically demanding role in a remote setting, ideally as a tour guide in Australia 

  • Strong customer service experience and the ability to build rapport with a broad range of travellers   

  • Full rights to work in Australia  

  • Have or be willing to gain a Passenger Transport Driver Authorisation (or a mutually recognisable public passenger vehicle licence from elsewhere in Australia) and Medium Rigid Driver’s License, a food safety certificate and a Remote First Aid & CPR certificate prior to commencing with us.  

  • Experience manual driving off sealed roads, ideally in a large vehicle, is desirable  

   

What you need to know:   

  • This is a casual position which will give you flexibility in when and how you work however, great availability is always an asset.  

  • We’re looking for Tour Leaders to operate tours in the Kimberely ASAP until approximately October, with the opportunity to continue working with us year-round in various locations around the country.  

  • You’ll be running hiking and camping tours that range from 6 – 14 days. You are the guide, driver and cook with your fellow leader. The days are long so it is important that you are prepared both mentally and physically for the challenge!
