General Manager PR & Communications, ANZ
At Intrepid, we believe travel has the power to change the world, and we need people to tell that story. Are you a seasoned communications leader with a passion for brand storytelling? Intrepid Travel is seeking a General Manager, PR & Communications, to shape and deliver our communications strategy across Australia and New Zealand. Reporting to the Managing Director, ANZ, this role is a key part of our regional leadership team, responsible for highlighting our social and environmental purpose, expanding our corporate communications program, and amplifying executive leadership — all in support of Intrepid’s 2030 strategy.
You’ll lead a high-performing team and agency partners to deliver campaigns that not only inspire people to explore the world, but also strengthen Intrepid’s reputation as the best travel company for the world. From media engagement and executive profiling to crisis response and thought-provoking storytelling, you’ll ensure our brand has a strong and authentic voice across consumer, corporate, and advocacy channels, while contributing to our global PR & Communications strategy.
This is a full-time, permanent role based in our Melbourne head office, with flexibility to work in a hybrid environment. Some of the experience you’ll bring with you may include:

10+ years in a communications role, preferably with a varied background in an agency with international clients or in-house large international organisation

Success with cross functional campaigns that drive social impact, advocacy and tangible outcomes

The ability to lead brand advocacy and purpose communications

Strong command of the ANZ news cycle, publications and key media figures

Confidence to advise senior stakeholders on best practice, sensitive issues management and crisis communications
You’ll be an expert creative storyteller with a strong command of how to compose compelling brand narratives, you’re a strategic thinker, who stays result orientated and customer focused and most importantly you will share Intrepid’s core values of integrity, innovation, fun, passion, growth, and responsibility.
