General Manager - Data and AI

We’re now searching for a General Manager, Data & AI to lead the next evolution of our global technology strategy, transforming how data, analytics and AI drive experiences for our customers, teams and communities around the world.
Reporting to the CTO, this leadership role will see you build and scale a world-class Data function across engineering, analytics and AI enablement. From defining enterprise-wide AI guardrails and governance to unlocking predictive insights that influence commercial performance, customer experience and operational excellence, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping Intrepid’s 2030 growth ambitions. You’ll work across a globally distributed business, partnering with senior leaders to embed data-driven decision making and responsible AI practices into the heart of how we operate.
This is an opportunity for an experienced and commercially minded technology leader who thrives on building high-performing teams, influencing at executive level and turning bold strategy into meaningful impact. This is a full-time permanent position based out of our HQ on Collins Street in Melbourne, with some flexibility for hybrid working.
Some of the experience you’ll bring with you may include:

Strong understanding of modern data platform architecture, data governance, and data quality management.

Demonstrated track record of developing and executing a data or AI strategy that delivered measurable business outcomes.

Experience building or scaling an analytics function from reactive reporting to proactive insight generation.

Familiarity with AI/ML platforms, large language models, and the evolving enterprise AI tooling landscape.

Excellent strategic thinking with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business language.

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across executive, technical, and operational audiences.
