Just as our travellers rely on our Tour Leaders to unlock hidden gems and navigate their destination, Intrepid relies on strong data governance to navigate our future, ensuring every decision is grounded in trusted information, that we empower data-driven journeys that embrace curiosity, and drive continuous improvement of Intrepid’s data quality and compliance. 

 

As a Data Governance Lead for Intrepid Travel, you’ll own the development, implementation and adoption of Intrepid’s data governance framework and policies. Collaborating globally across the business you’ll drive consistency in our data definitions, master data management and data lineage practices, ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance across all data assets. You'll also manage the creation and implementation of data governance strategies to support data-driven decision-making and mitigate risks to help us achieve our ambitious 2026 goals and beyond. 

 

This is a full-time, permanent position paying up to $140,000 + super, which offers a hybrid work model based out of our centrally located Melbourne HQ on Collins Street. 

 

Some of the experience you’ll bring with you may include: 

  • Data Governance or related data certification, with proven experience leading governance initiatives. 

  • Deep expertise in data governance and master data management. 

  • Strong understanding of data privacy and regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and ability to translate compliance requirements into actionable governance practices. 

  • Excellent knowledge of data analytics, data lineage and data architecture. 

  • Exceptional communication, presentation and influencing skills, with the ability to inspire action, gain stakeholder buy-in, and drive cross-functional alignment. 

  • Strategic and analytical thinker, capable of connecting governance initiatives to business objectives and driving data as a strategic asset.
