We are Intrepid

We are Intrepid

The world needs more Intrepid people:

We are looking for a passionate host to become the heart of camp life at Yalka Ratara. Every day on site brings something different, and this role is all about creating unforgettable experiences. As our Camp Host, you'll help transform a remote wilderness camp into a welcoming home for our travellers from all corners of the world. From preparing guest tents and sharing stories around the campfire to supporting delicious meals and keeping camp running seamlessly, you'll be the friendly face that helps every guest feel comfortable, cared for and inspired.

This is a role which would suit someone who thrives on variety and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves. You'll work closely with our Tour Leaders to deliver exceptional hospitality and guest experiences while helping maintain the camp, supporting kitchen operations, managing supplies and ensuring every corner of camp is ready to welcome the next adventure. If you're passionate about customer service, enjoy working outdoors and love the idea of combining hospitality with adventure travel, you'll feel right at home here.

This is a casual position based on site in Yalka (1.5 hours from Alice Springs), whereby you will get accommodation on site for the days you are working at the camp, but will be required to have your own transportation to and from.

Some of the experience you have might include:

  • Strong customer service and hospitality focus.

  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of operational tasks.

  • Flexible and hands-on approach to work in a remote camp environment.

  • Good organisation and time management skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with Tour Leaders and camp staff.

  • Current driver's license required; 4WD driving experience desirable.

  • Food handling, cooking or hospitality experience desirable.
