As the Head of People for the Americas at Intrepid Travel, you will hold a key leadership role responsible for driving the People strategy, initiatives, and operations across the region. Supporting approximately 300 staff and 500 tour leaders and crew, you will ensure that our People programs align with business objectives, foster a high-performance culture, and promote employee engagement, development, and retention. 

 

You’ll partner closely with our global and regional People teams to implement global programs and tailor them to meet local needs. From employee development and retention to compliance and culture, your influence will help strengthen the employee experience and ensure our People practices reflect our values. 

Working in a matrix environment, this role provides strategic direction and mentorship to People leads and their teams. You’ll also act as a key advisor to regional leadership and collaborate across departments to support our purpose-driven mission. 

 

We’re looking for a strong communicator, strategic thinker, and passionate People leader who’s excited to help Intrepid be the best travel company for the world. 

 

This is a Full-Time Permanent Position that will operate on a hybrid basis out of our office in Seattle, United States.     

 

Some of the experience you’ll bring with you may include: 

  • 10+ years HR leadership experience, with at least 2 years in a senior leadership role overseeing People operations in a regional or multinational role, preferably in a matrixed environment. 

  • Deep knowledge of People best practices in the Americas region. 

  • Proven experience in talent management, labor relations, organizational development, and compensation & benefits. 

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to align People strategies with organizational goals. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence a broad range of audiences and people. 

  • Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. 

  • A passion for travel and a commitment to delivering sustainable, impactful,Skills, qualifications, experience, and location determine individual compensationion. 

  • Experience managing organizational change, including mergers and acquisitions. 

  • Ability to regularly travel to our regional and global destinations (~20%). 

  • Fluency in English required; proficiency in Spanish is desirable. 

 

The total salary range for this position in Seattle is USD $120,00.00 to $140,000.00. Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
