In addition to this, our people are encouraged to travel, experience the world, and can even ‘work from anywhere’ in the world for up to 4 weeks per year.

We believe mentoring is a powerful tool for professional and personal development. Our Elevate Mentor Program is open to all office staff and tour leaders who are keen to further develop their skills and careers to advance their professional growth.
With the introduction of LinkedIn Learning, Learning and Development is now more accessible than ever for Intrepid people, this digital platform is available to all staff, leaders and crew so they can continue to upskill themselves.
With some of our people's careers spanning over 30 years at Intrepid we can strongly attest to how important Internal mobility is to our business. For that reason, we strongly support promoting from within and all roles are advertised internally.
Family Leave Allowances
Our family leave benefits are designed to offer more equitable arrangements across the board – because we know that families come in all shapes and sizes and that wherever they are located in the world, they all have to face life’s highs, lows and everything in between.
Our global leave benefits are aimed at supporting greater gender equity and ensuring our people have the time and space they need during all of life’s moments.
This includes:
- 10 weeks paid parental leave minimum for all parents
- Increased bereavement and compassionate leave
- New pregnancy loss leave
- Family and domestic violence leave
- A range of additional leave provisions

As an additional bonus, when our people travel on an Intrepid trip, they have access to five additional days of paid leave per year.

At Intrepid we understand everyone’s journey is different which is why we ensure we offer a strong Employee Assistance Program with a 24/7 service that offers counselling for you and your family. Intrepid also offers their office-based employees 20 hours of volunteer leave every year, so they can make a difference towards causes that are important to them

Our team is made up of 58 nationalities across 46 countries, and Intrepid recognises that diversity makes us a stronger business. With a commitment to breaking down barriers, we support a culture where people can be themselves. That’s why we’ve introduced our paid parental leave (or caregiver leave) for all staff – regardless of gender, we encourage office-based staff to work flexible hours that best suit their lifestyle and we champion diversity amongst our teams.
- We have created a Purpose Champions Network for staff to be directly involved in creating and implementing purpose initiatives they are passionate about.
- We offer training on Purpose, from BIPOC and Size Inclusivity training, right through to how to become a climate change advocate. At Intrepid we encourage our people to understand and learn about Purpose issues and do our best to embed this into our company culture at every opportunity.
- We want our people to be part of our impact by using their 20 hours of volunteer leave to connect and support a cause that is important to them or by fundraising for our Intrepid Foundation partners to make a change in the communities that support us.

Our purpose is to inspire, create, share and lead the best travel experiences ever – for both people and the planet. That's why we’ve been carbon-neutral since 2010, carbon offset all our trips, and have a seven-point commitment plan that supports our Climate Emergency declaration.
For the communities we visit.
We're genuinely connected to and invested in the places we go, the people we meet along the way, and the communities at the heart of every Intrepid experience, that’s why we hire locally-based leaders and support small grassroots businesses. In addition to that, we like to give back to the communities we visit and since establishing the Intrepid Foundation in 2002 we have raised 15.5 million dollars to support over 160 partners around the world.
