Deputy Operations Manager, Urban Adventures
Our Urban Adventures are looking for a dynamic Deputy Operations Manager to help deliver unforgettable day tours and grow our destinations. The Deputy Operations Manager (DOM) is responsible for the safe, successful, and profitable running of all day tours within the assigned regions. This includes trips for Intrepid Travel and external brand partners, delivered in line with company standards and policies. The DOM acts as the main point of contact for operational matters between the office team, Urban Adventures guides, and the management of vehicle fleets (where applicable).
They work closely with lead guides in each city to ensure engagement, quality control, local sales, and training are consistently delivered across all destinations. The DOM manages day-to-day priorities to ensure the smooth running of Intrepid’s Urban Adventures and other designated travel products. They are also expected to drive the growth and success of their destinations by creating and leading great experiences, recruiting and developing top guides, and contributing to business development and marketing opportunities within their regions - helping to strengthen Intrepid as a global, iconic brand.
This is a Full-Time, Permanent, on-site role. We’re recruiting for three regional hubs:

West — Denver or Seattle

A thorough understanding of and a strong passion for Intrepid’s style of sustainable, experience rich travel.

Background in operations management and/or tour leading/guiding including day tours, vehicle touring and active travel.

In-depth knowledge of product, itineraries, destinations, and the adventure travel industry in the region.

Experience managing people and teams, including remote staff and guides.

Experience designing and delivering guide training.

Ability to manage crises calmly and effectively and take responsibility for the safety of others.

Outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to delegate.
