The world needs more Intrepid people: 

As the Deputy Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the successful and profitable running of Intrepid and Wildland Trekking Co. trips, ensuring alignment with both companies’ policies and practices. 

 

You will serve as the main point of contact for field staff operating in both the Greater Yellowstone and Colorado programs, as well as for Operations teams across the region. You will be responsible for the overall performance of trips, including maintaining and operating a branch warehouse location, and carrying out business administrative duties related to the branch. 

 

In addition, you will support key branch functions such as contracting, reservations, and sales. From time to time, you may also be required to perform other duties outside the scope of these responsibilities, as business needs dictate. 

 

This is a full-time, salaried position based in Felt, ID. Flexibility is essential, as the role may require working weekends and/or holidays. 

 

Some of the experience you’ll bring with you may include: 

  • Extensive knowledge of the field area; Yellowstone National Park, Wind River Range, Rocky Mountain National Park, Grand Teton National Park, Jedidah Smith Wilderness, Flat Tops CO and other areas associated with these areas. 

  • Travel industry work experience, preferably as a tour leader or guide or operations manager; 

  • Excellent communication (verbal & written) in English 

  • Experience in administrative tasks with solid skills in Microsoft Office including word and excel. Previous experience with a CRM system/ Salesforce preferred 

  • Strong supervisory, facilitation and organization skills 

  • Ability to lift up-to 40 pounds and work at a computer station up to 40 hours-per-week 

  • Meet company and DOT driving requirements and maintain a valid Driver’s License 

  • Must be at least 21 years of age and successfully pass a motor vehicle and background check 

  • Maintain a current Wilderness First Responder, CPR & Epi Certification
