The world needs more Intrepid people: 

Intrepid Travel, a global leader in delivering diverse and enriching destination experiences, seeks a dynamic Sales Manager to lead and inspire our Galapagos and Ecuador Sales team. This team excels in providing exceptional service, achieving impressive quote-to-purchase conversions, and building trust with both business and direct customers to drive repeat business across our global network. 

 

The Sales Manager will oversee a team of consultants, guiding them to meet sales targets, particularly for filling Galapagos boats and booking tailored FIT trips, while ensuring high customer performance standards. Responsibilities include providing leadership, training, and support to the team as they consult, sell, and accurately book group and tailored trips. The Sales Manager will also manage their own clients, taking a hands-on role with complex or high-value bookings. 

 

Collaborating with contracting and reservations teams, the Sales Manager acts as the primary point of contact for external customers, managing the customer experience from inquiry to trip departure. A strong knowledge of Intrepid’s products and itineraries is crucial, enabling the team to assess customer needs and deliver customized travel solutions. 

 

This is a Full-Time Permanent Position that will operate on a hybrid basis out of our office in Quito, Ecuador.     

 

Some of the experience you’ll bring with you may include: 

  • Previous supervisory experience, including leading a team to sales success through coaching, training & developing 

  • Strong knowledge of the Galapagos boats and land itineraries in Galapagos and Ecuador  

  • Proven track record in managing and reporting on sales targets for a team of direct reports 

  • Significant travel industry and sales experience, ideally within adventure travel 

  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships  

  • In addition to Spanish, fluent English language skills (written and verbal)  

  • Ability to accurately use systems and create or train others in processes to provide a quality customer experience 

  • Management training and/or qualifications advantageous
