The world needs more Intrepid people: 

The Operations Manager is accountable for ensuring the safe, successful, and profitable operation of all Intrepid trips within the North Europe, UK & Ireland region, in alignment with the company’s established standards and policies. This role oversees daily trip operations, addresses trip issues, and ensures an exceptional customer experience. Responsibilities include recruiting, training, and scheduling Intrepid’s tour leaders, and supporting them on the ground to resolve issues and maintain high passenger satisfaction. 

 

In addition to managing the operational performance and leading the Operations Department, the Operations Manager plays a vital role in shaping the overall direction of the Country Office as a key member of the regional management team. They are also responsible for providing support with Iceland Country Office logistics. 

 

This is a Full-Time Permanent Position that will operate on a hybrid basis out of our office in Copenhagen, Denmark. 

 

Some of the experience you’ll bring with you may include: 

  • Proven experience in middle to senior-level operational management within the tourism industry, ideally across cultures or multiple locations, with a strong ability to embed and monitor policies and processes. 

  • Extensive travel experience in Europe, paired with in-depth knowledge of itineraries, destinations, and the adventure travel industry in Northern Europe. 

  • Crisis management skills with a calm and responsible approach to ensuring the safety and well-being of others.  

  • Demonstrated expertise in people and team management, including training, leading remote teams, and understanding the qualities that make an exceptional Group Leader. 

  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to delegate effectively while managing operations within budget.  

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with proficiency in a second language preferred. 

  • Previous experience as a tour leader is an advantage
