The world needs more Intrepid people: 

As the Operations Coordinator, you will provide managerial, logistical, and administrative support to the Operations team, ensuring the successful and profitable delivery of trips in Brazil, with potential involvement in Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay. In this role, you will assist with day-to-day operational issues for Intrepid and external business partners. 

 

This role is responsible for supporting the implementation and monitoring of all Intrepid safety standards and responsible travel policies, including sourcing and managing partnerships for the Intrepid Foundation. Reporting to the Deputy Operations Manager based in Argentina, the role includes assisting in recruiting, training, scheduling, and managing leaders and guides. Additional responsibilities include supervising city tours (as needed), overseeing suppliers, and conducting site inspections of hotels, transportation providers, operators, activities, and restaurants in Brazil. 

 

As the Operations Coordinator, you will play an active role in maintaining trip quality and resolving customer or leader issues on the ground, including outside office hours when emergencies arise. This role may also involve joining our regional roster for managing 24/7 emergency phone coverage when eligible. 

 

This is a Full-Time Permanent Position that will operate on a remote basis from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. 

 

Some of the experience you’ll bring with you may include: 

  • Relevant tourism qualification desirable  

  • Extensive travel experience and knowledge of tour destination and hidden gems in Brazil. 

  • Experience in the travel industry, specifically within operations departments of adventure travel companies or destination management companies (DMC). 

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal & written, in both English and Portuguese. 

  • Experience in administrative tasks, using Microsoft Word and Excel  

  • Brazilian citizen or resident. 

  • Reliable with outstanding organisational skills and attention to detail. 

  • Resourceful and with the ability to oversee the resolution of emergency situations that may occur.
