Do you dream of inspiring travellers and helping them fall in love with their destination by immersing them in your local culture and exposing them to real life experiences? Being a Tour Leader with Intrepid, you will do just that!  

  

Every day will be different, but every day you will:  

  

  • Provide amazing customer service and travel advice – whether it's guiding a morning market exploration, leading a hike to an awe-inspiring view, or arranging a home-cooked meal with a local family, you’ll create incredible moments that our travellers will never forget  

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of your travellers, at times you will have to assist in difficult situations whilst remaining calm and professional.  

  • Host, lead and execute tours to budget, following the itinerary and fulfil your administrative duties  

  • Be passionate about travel and share your love of it with our customers. Every step of the way you’ll embody our core values of Integrity, Passion, Fun, Innovation and Responsibility  

  

To be considered you must have:  

  

  • Excellent communication in English and any additional languages are advantageous  

  • Strong customer service experience and the ability to build rapport with a broad range of travellers  

  • Full rights to work in Australia 

  • You’ll also need to be willing to gain a Passenger Vehicle Accreditation and Medium Rigid license, a food safety certificate and a Remote First Aid & CPR certificate prior to commencing with us. 

  • The willingness to complete e-learning courses to obtain the relevant Kakadu, Uluru & Kata Tjuta accreditations and Safety Induction courses. 

  

What you need to know:  

  

  • This is a casual role which will give you flexibility in when and how you work however, great availability is always an asset 

  • These roles are based out of Alice Springs or Darwin and we’ll provide some accommodation between trips and transport to and from the depot at the beginning and end of the season. 

  • You’ll be running hiking, active and sightseeing trips, with some long days, lots of walking and engaging with travellers, it’s important that you are prepared both mentally and physically for the challenge!  

  • You’ll need the ability to travel and spend time away from home, as our leaders often travel for extensive periods at a time and some tours can span up to two weeks.
