General Manager Global Procurement
At Intrepid, we pride ourselves on delivering unique travel experiences. The world needs more Intrepid people, and more people means more customers, more trips, more exploring of destinations - which also means more suppliers. With over 8,000 suppliers worldwide, we’re now looking for a GM of Procurement to build and then lead our procurement function at Intrepid, helping us shape the future of how we do business.
In this role you’ll develop then implement a procurement strategy vision and roadmap for Intrepid globally, while providing expert advice and training to the business on sourcing and negotiation contracts. Responsibilities include both our direct (product) and indirect spend.
You’ll be overseeing the contracting of our decentralised teams based in over 30 offices worldwide, making sure we stick to best practices and stay compliant, while also fostering a culture of innovation and growth and upskilling our people along the way. You’ll initiate cost-saving initiatives to optimise our procurement spend. Plus, you’ll ensure our purchases, supplier relationships and contracts align with our sustainability goals and reflect our values and purpose, helping us continue our journey to ‘Buy Better’ on a global scale.

This role is a permanent position based in Melbourne that operates on a hybrid basis; however, we are also open to candidates based in London.
Some of the experience you’ll bring with you may include:

7+ years in procurement leadership, ideally in travel or with transferable skills.

International experience with a strong grasp of global cultural differences.

Experience creating and implementing a global decentralized procurement function from scratch.

Expertise in procurement best practices, contract management, and supplier relationships.

Proven track record managing global suppliers and stakeholders.

Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.

Experienced in leading and developing high-performing teams.
